Crafted during my time at Langley, this piece holds references to an earlier space – Woodbine Studio. Central to the piece is a small bench, a pivotal place where I spent most of my time working.
The bench is more than just furniture; it's my scale, the starting point where everything takes form. Unlike some sculptors who begin from the ground, I find my beginning on the bench. The sculpture exaggerates the perspective of various elements – forms on the bench, objects leaning against the walls – all reminiscent of the studio environment.
For me, the studio is more than just a physical space; it's a place to be and create. This piece, much like others, aims to capture the narrative of the moment – a snapshot of what I'm thinking and feeling during the creative process.
